When I started I'd hoped to get the rig replaced for less than $10K, but when I saw the spreaders, sheaves and mast step I knew it was going to be over budget. As of Christmas 2001 I was hoping for $14K. The final number was a bit of a shock. It looks like a few other projects are going to be deferred, and the year 2002 is going to be spent on projects that don't cost money, just time!

As far as the rig goes, I'll be doing the deck layout myself, and already have most of the parts. A few more bills came in after I did this page that brought the total up to about $23K, but I was too tired to change the figures. As of 1/1/2002, here's the damage:
