August 2007 --
Here's another little thing I've wanted to do since I bought the boat.
I have two sinks, but rarely use both of them. The right hand sink usually ends up being a place to store things that could make a big mess if they fly around when the boat's heeled over.
And, you always need more counter space.
A couple of years ago I found
a one inch thick hunk of
Polyethylene at Tap Plastics.
It sat in the garage
until the time was right.
After tracing the sink onto the plastic, it was cut to shape.
Justs for grins, I routed some material out of the bottom. I figured it would reduce the weight a little bit.
But I'm not sure it really matters.
The edge was routed into shape using a router table.
