Main Sail Cover

Home ...s/v Stella Blue Home ... Canvas Stuff ... Projects

This was a pretty easy one, since I had the old cover for a pattern. I made it a little bigger, since the old one had shrunk.
I actually like my main covers a bit loose because they'll shrink over time.
(And it worked out great when I got my stiff New Main in 2003...)
I also left the end square, so that I can tie stuff to the end of the boom and hide it under the cover.

I sunk two grommets at the top, and ran a piece of line through to tie it off. I don't like Velcro --
it looks good for a while but eventually
it turns into an annoying flapping thing.

I also offset the front six inches to starboard,
so it wasn't directly behind the pole.

All the fasteners are simple twist-lock things. You can get all this stuff (SunBrella too)
at SailRite.com.
